Get Money to Train from Your Health Insurance Company
Posted On 07/09/2008 13:35:02

I have Oxford health insurance through work and they have a preventative health program that allows me to get reimbursed for working out a gym. They'll give me $200 every 6 months if I prove that work out 50 times during that 6 month period. I've submitted these claims for the past year and a half and they've paid every time and accept my Jiu Jitsu training as meeting their gym requirements.

I just got the latest check and thought this would be something worth sharing with the members here. Find out if your health insurance company has a similar plan and make sure you're not leaving money on the table.

MMA Gets 1st Major TV Network Deal With New CBS Contract
Posted On 02/28/2008 15:07:56

Mixed martial arts will air on one of the major television
networks for the first time.

CBS announced a deal Thursday with ProElite, which produces MMA events, to
broadcast in prime time a sport that has been growing in popularity. The plan is to televise two-hour live specials four times a year on Saturday nights.

ProElite CEO Douglas DeLuca called it a "pivotal moment for the sport." ProElite already produces MMA events for its EliteXC fight division on the Showtime cable channel, which is owned by CBS.

"Mixed martial arts is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and a wildly popular entertainment vehicle for upscale, young adult audiences," Kelly Kahl, CBS Primetime's senior executive vice president, said in a release.

FHM features the Girls of UFC

OK... when are we going to see these profiles on MMAFightSpace?

UFC Girls

In 2007, FHM’s photo shoot with former UFC Octagon Girl, Rachelle Leah became one of your favorite shoots of the year. Maybe it is the growing popularity of the heavyweight champion of all mixed martial arts events, the UFC, that made the shoot so popular. Or the fact that Leah is stunning—and single.

Kim Couture's debut to air on HDNet Fights

Kim Couture
Sure, there's been plenty of WWE talk 'round these parts lately, but we're making sure MMA fanatics aren't left in the cold, either. Later this month, HDNet Fights will exclusively air the debut of Kim Couture, who, if you couldn't surmise, is the wife of famed MMA legend Randy "The Natural" Couture. The event is slated to take place at the Xtreme Couture Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 29th directly after the network's LIVE IFL event. If that just seems too far away, feel free to catch Mrs. Couture (and her hubby) on Inside MMA this Friday at 9:30PM (also on HDNet).
