Just little squabbles with my wife :)

Lose more weight, stick with martial arts, not to injure myself and not lose my ambition.

One of my goals was to meet Professor Dillman and I was able to do that this past September. I hope to make it to his camp in the near future. (but with these gas prices.....)

You must login before viewing my schools.

Have been a federal law enforcement officer for the past 19 1/2 years. At the ripe age of 40 I decided, with some strong encouragement from my Master, to take up martial arts. This is a personal challenge to me as I am very hard to motivate, but only when it comes to exercising! I am coming up on my one year anniversary and it has definitely been one of the most exciting ones of my life. In this year I had my nose broken, torn or strained ligaments in both my knees, hyper-extended elbows, fractured my right leg, broke my right middle finger and countless sprained toes, fingers and ankles. This has landed me the nickname of "fragile" which is pretty amazing since I went 40 years of my life without ever breaking a bone in my body while being very active in contact sports. All of this has been worth it because even though I suffered all of these injuries I was still able to lose 50 pounds. Although I gained 15 of them back as my last injury was the fractured leg, but I am back at about 80% and already lost 9 lbs. (still need about another 50 more to lose, yikes how did I let myself go....lol)

I owe all of this to Master Dr. Luis Larios and my fellow companions and friends from the dojo. Dr. Larios is a true mentor and inspiration, I only wish I had half of his dedication and energy. I am currently a blue belt (hope to keep getting promoted so that I can come back and update it every so often) but what I enjoy most is helping out at the dojo and guiding, teaching and learning from the children. I hope to be an inspiration and mentor to them by way of example. It is never too late and when one puts their mind to it anything is possible. If you ever find yourself in the Yuma, Arizona area stop on by and pay us a visit. The dojo's address can be found at www.larioskarate.com

Spending time with my family, taking care of my pets, competitive poker and of course martial arts.
