My art is American Jiujitsu, because it fit's my needs as a LEO better than any other art - period. This is due to it's focus on non-lethal standing techniques and pain compliance concepts while allowing me to encompass all effective movements and styles that I see as necessary. Because of this I focus my training on traditional AJJ, MT style pad work, BJJ ground work, FMA blade and stick work, and MMA clinches/takedowns. My firearms training is just as important as my H2H, so I try to practive FoF and hit the range and/or competitions as much as possible.
My goal is not to be effective in a ring, my goal is to survive the street.

Bah - name it. I'm changing the category to some favorite training-style quotes:

"I have a black belt and a black gun, and I'll kill ya with either of em"

"Jam a fork in his eye!"

"Think of your training as a downpayment on your skills. If you don't keep it up, you lose it."

"You can have the best technique in the world, but just like a ferrari, if you don't have the gas to drive it, it's useless."

"YOU WILL NOT QUIT!"

I am a Christian, and the most important thing in my life is being a good Christian leader for my family, which means drawing closer to God. I am trying to better myself everyday: Spiritually- through prayer and reading my Bible, Physically- by training in the Martial Arts, weights and cardio, Mentally- by reading up on areas of knowledge that I am weak in (politics and world events), and Emotionally through introspection and creativity (art/poetry/music). I have my perfect wife, a beautiful child, an incredible family (6 siblings!), wonderful friends, a fantastic job, and a good dojo. I am so thankful to be this blessed. I am now in the Greenville area of South Carolina; it is beautiful here, I love it.
INTERESTS:
Christian spirituality, Knock & Announce, Martial arts/fighting et all, Angel & family, nature/wildlife/outdoorsstuffs, playing music (guitar)....my dog and my cat :)

Sandan in AJJ (3rd degree black belt) and Royce threw me a blue belt at a seminar I went to with him years ago.

AJJ, BJJ, MT, FMA, MMA, WWII combatives, Aikido, Judo, Kendo, etc

My Lord, My wife, my child, my family and friends, my work, my dojo... probably in that order

ACHIEVEMENTS: Apparently, I'm the *only* student to receive the Bushido award from both a satellite dojo and O'Sensei. I think that is pretty cool.
HONORS: I am a truly happy and blessed individual: I have a beautiful, smart, devoted wife, a bright-eyed gorgeous little girl, a profession that allows me to better the world, a dojo that allows me to positively influence peoples lives, a family that loves and supports me, a great mutt of a dog, a nice place to live...and most importantly, an awesome God. I am very thankful and honored to have these things.

I didn't know you had a kid.  Good for you.  I don't drive anymore, I moved up in the company.  I am trying to take it over so I need to make some power moves.  Glad to see all is well, take it easy.
