The last few days of 2007 will ferature at least 3 major televised MMA events, all with a different spin to them.

I did not do the live updates for the WEC 31 event on 12/12 as I did with TUF 6 Finale frankly because I wanted to take in the entire event to really evaluate where WEC is at this stage.  This was the promotion's close-out show of 2007 and had a card full of promise.  Although the event redeemed itself with the last 2 fights, to me WEC remains a one-hit wonder, it's "one" hit being the top of its 145 lbs. division.

At around 10pm CST, I caught "Lou Neglia's Ring of Combat"; Beast of the East. on HDNet.  In the main event, two very tough competitors (sorry guys - forget your names and Neglia's site has not been updated), had an awesome, technical battle goin on.  Both appeared to have won a round, but the third never got started due to a nasty cut over the right eye of a fighter.  In my opinion, the fight definitely should have been stopped, but you have to wonder if elbows should be allowed... There are rumors already circulating (and at least one news report, from the the Wrestling Observer) that Sean Sherk has been stripped of his UFC lightweight title due to his suspension being upheld (although reduced) by California State Athletic Commission.   Sherk was suspended after testing positive for a steroid substance called Nandralone after his title defense against Hermes Franca.  Should he lose his title?
