Right now all my fights have been in the boxing ring. Being from New York MMA events are still not
allowed.I am the regional silver gloves champion in the 100 pound weight class. IT's hard to get fights because I'm a big kid, they always try to match me with kids 12 and 13 years old. My dad and boxing coach's will not take alot of those fights because they tell me there is a big differance between a 10 year old at 110 pounds and a 13 year old at 110 pounds. They tell me training is not a race, I'm doing fine and my time will come to have all the fights I want. But still I want to fight as much as I can,it's the only way I have to test what is working and what I need to improve on. I hope everyday the laws will change in NEW YORK so MMA events are allowed. Boxing is cool, but I need to test myself, face to face, with someone just as focused as I am in MMA.

TO BE THE YOUNGEST UFC LT. HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION EVER. NOTHING WILL STAND IN MY WAY OF REACHING THAT GOAL

Hi everyone, my name is Conner Gibbons I just turned 10 years old.People call me the Machine. I got that name when someone was watching me workout one day. I always work with adults, and this person asked, "Do you men always train with that little kid?" The fighter looked around and said, "What kid?, oh you mean Conner, he's no kid he's a Machine... and a fighter just like all of us. It just kinda stuck from that day on. My dad teaches me my stand up game. He is a the former mid-west full contact karate lt.heavyweight champion. I train in boxing at the Watertown Boxing Club with former golden gloves champion John Pepe. My ground skills are taught to me by Ray Newkirk professional mma fighter, veteran of Trauma In The Cage and owner of Streetwise Fightwear a sponsor of mine. Please stop by the video section of mmafightspace, and watch my video. You can find it under Conner Gibbons boxing. It's me training for MMA. All the shots are from about a year ago, I don't think I look like the same kid anymore. My punches are tighter, my kicks are harder and my ground game way more dangerous. But I think it's pretty cool and well worth watching. Everything I say is from a letter I wrote to Dana White, telling him about me. I just wanted him to remember the face and the name, because he would be seeing it again someday when he was hanging the championship belt around me. So watch it, and please drop me a line, and let me know what you think. And please feel free to join in and follow my thoughts on life.....TRAIN WITH PURPOSE, FIGHT WITH PASSION, PURSUE YOUR DREAMS...and to all that may stand in your way...LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR!!!!

I play pop warner football, going both ways center and nose tackle. I led the devision in forced fumbels and voted lineman of the year by my team.....But MMA is my true love. I also play the drums and guitar. I love music. I like rock and 80's stuff. My dad says he cursed me with that. He grew up in the 80's and said thats the only music that got played in the house when I was a baby. I tell him it could have been worse, it could have been country....YUK!!! I got to meet the band Drowning Pool( they do the song, Let The Bodies Hit The Floor, my walking to the ring music} all the the guys in the band signed a picture of me after a fight, I had a black eye. They wrote. To Conner THE MACHINE Gibbons, keep on fighting and let the bodies hit the floor, the guys from Drowning Pool. They thought it was pretty cool a little kid like me was walking to the ring to there song. They told me anytime I had to throw a beatin on someone, they would love it if I would crank up there tune. I would love for them to come back to town one day, I would see if they would let me play drums with them for one song... that would be cool.

I train all the time, to much sometimes my coach's tell me. They tell me to slow down and enjoy being a kid, but training is what I love. 3 nights a week with my boxing coach, 2-3 nights a week doing full-contact, stand up with my dad.On saturdays I get up at 4 in the morning to travel 2 hours to work with my mma/ground coach Ray Newkirk. It's hard work, but to be the best, you have to be able to do it all. I hope that mmafightspace will open some doors for me. I would love for some of the best in the sport to see my profile and say, "Hey.. that kid has heart and focus, I'll spend some time working with him." My coach's all agree learn from everyone, keep what works for you throw away the rest. My dad has said, if ever the door opened for me to work out with some of the greats, he would do everything he could to make it happen for me. That was the case when I went to and Eddie Bravo clinic, my dad drove me 8 hours to go. I see why he is a legend. I think he was impressed by my drive at this age, but I am working on my ground game like a mad man. If we meet again I want him to say, "Holy crap... this kid is a MACHINE," So my door is open to all who think they can teach me something I could use. please feel free to contact me.

Like my dad has taught me, absorb from everyone and everything. To be the best I must be able to fight anystyle, at anytime. He thinks everyone should be involved with some kind of martial arts training. He thinks it makes you a better person. he says, "Walking the path of a fighter, does not mean you have to become a fighter, but walking that path insure's that you don't become a victim." I didn't get what that ment when he use to tell me, I would say thats way to deep for me dad, and he wouldn't explain it. He said you'll understand it someday. He was right, I get it now.

I have no record in MMA as of yet, because I can't fight in New York. I went to the Arnold Sports Festival in Ohio to fight March 1st But that got shot down, at the last minute the Ohio State Athletics Comm. said no one under the age of 18 would be allowed to fight. But it wasn't all bad, I got to workout with Eddie Bravo for 2 1/2 hours. He stopped about half way into the clinic and told all the others to remember my face and name, because when I'm 16 I'll be one bad mother#%*&^!, and they would be seeing me again. I was the only kid in the class. IT amde me feel pretty good, like all the work was paying off.

Hey Connor Whats Good? I added you and i was looking over your page. Dont rush into anything too fast. Like my head trainer always says "A fox who chases two rabbits into a forrest comes home hungry," you will get your fight when your time is there. Dont worry it took me 2 1/2 years before i got fights. But just keep focusing on training.  Glad to hear you are feeling better. Just keep up the training.
