| About Me |
I started my American Jiu Jitsu training under Sensei Jason McCarthy in 1994 while in Boston. Sensei Jason was kind enough to start an American Jiu Jitsu Club at MIT and share his knowledge. I'm fortunate to have Sensei Jason as my instructor; he's one of the most technical and brilliant martial artists you can find...and an AMAZING teacher.
In 1997, Sensei Jason passed the school runnings to myself and Sensei Godfrey. I ran the MIT Jiu Jitsu club for the next few years alongside some of the most amazing and passionate martial artists one can find. In 2001, I moved to Manhattan to help open and run New York Jiu Jitsu (American Jiu Jitsu Manhattan Dojo.) The MIT Club has since been passed on to other outstanding instructors and is now the largest club at MIT.
I currently teach on a limited basis at NYJJ but hope to come back strong once I'm done with schooling. |
| My Training |
Since the start of my training, I've been fortunate enough to train under and with numberous individuals:
Sensei Jason: My amazing instructor and friend.
Sensei Dara: Keeps me on my toes every second of the day. Thank you!!
Sensei Felix: Always an amazing workout and collaboration of ideas.
Sensei Erik Bonrnstein: If you're in Boston/Cambridge VISIT HIM!! He's one of the most passionate, gently, yet brutal Jiu Jitsu instructors I've met.
Sensei Seth Kanner: If you didn't know him, you'd think he was crazy! Musician turned finance turned rediculous martial artist!
