UFC Brock Lesnar
Posted On 01/29/2008 13:17:54 by Phatdragon3864
I was just thinking about the UFC fights this weekend. What do you think of Brock Lesnar entering the Octagon. Granted earlier in his life he was a great wrestler. But can he stand up to the ground and pound. His opponent is Frank Meir, a former UFC Champion. I stress former because since his return from his accident Meir hasn't been very impressive at all. Is the UFC using this fight to market Lesnar to the mass publc? If he wins he defeats a former Champion. If he loses he lost to a former Champion, so no big deal. What do you think?!?

Yes as predicted. The ground and pound was great! But his inexperience showed. First, the 2 shots to the back of the head were a mistake. He could have gotten away with the first one, since Mir turned his head. This gave Mir the chance to clear his head. Second and most notable he left his leg in a bad position that allowed Mir to take him from a knee bar to a heel hook. To me it was very disappointing.

I did notice the other night while my son was watching the WWE that the UFC and Lesnar were being promoted during Commercial time.Is this a gamble? YES! But  when my son saw the ad  he nearly jumped into the T.V. His first words to me "Dad can we get the Pay Per View?" If Lesnar comes close to doing anything in the UFC he could be the largest money maker they have ever seen. He already has a fan base of millions.
