UFC Fight Night 12 is on SpikeTV Wednesday at 9 pm EST.  Main event is slimmed down Mike "Quick" Swick debuting at welterweight against always-game Josh Burkman.  Swick was rising quickly in middleweight ranks, but got smothered by Yushin Okami last time around, ostensibly due to Okami's larger size.  Undoubtedly, sizable fighters Anderson Silva and Dan Henderson looming at the top probably added to the switch to the welterweight division.  This fight will be a test of whether Swick can stay "quick" after cutting so much weight. 

Additionally, Patrick Cote gets to try to establish a streak against knock-out artist Drew McFedries.  Cote is coming off a win against Kendall Grove, while McFedries won his last match against then-newcomer Jordan Radev by KO.  Cote is going for his third win in a row, after starting his UFC career 0-4 (albeit with memorable performances in his losses). 

Beyond that, there is a bevy of talented up-and-coming lightweights:  Nick Diaz, Gray Maynard, Thiago Tavarez, Corey Hill, Cole Miller, Jeremy Stephens, Kurt Pellegrino and others.  Winners will look to get on PPV cards, while losers will have to fight their way back into the promotion.  But these are mere apprentices in a division now reigned by the Prodigy.
