Kenny Florian stopped Joe Lauzon with an impressive ground display, although Lauzon should hold his head up high. In other bouts:
Gray Maynard won a hard fought decision over Frankie Edgar;
Thiago Alves TKO'd Karo Parisian, who was one of 2 fighters angry at the stoppage. Karo's anger seemed more legitimate than Houston Alexander's (see below), as Karo never seemed fully out of it (although heavily pounded);
Matt Hamill stopped Tim Boetsch, who seemed to fatigue quickly and could not handle Hamill's wrestling.
Nate Diaz survived the early onslaught from Kurt Pellegrino and submitted Kurt via a triangle. A very impressive win for Diaz;
James Irvin tied the UFC record for a fastest KO by dropping Houston Alexander with first (superman) punch and landing 2 more unanswered blow on the ground. Alexander protested as loudly as Parisian, but replay showed him fully limp and not defending, thus apparently justifying the stoppage.
In preliminary matches:
Josh Neer def. Din Thomas via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Marcus Aurelio def. Ryan Roberts via submission (armbar) -- Round 1, 0:16
Manny Gamburyan def. Jeff Cox via submission (guillotine choke) -- Round 1, 1:41
Clay Guida def. Samy Schiavo via TKO (strikes) -- Round 1, 4:15
George Sotiropoulos def. Roman Mitichyan via TKO (strikes) -- Round 2, 2:24
Anthony Johnson def. Tommy Speer via TKO (strikes) -- Round 1, 0:51 (Note that this bout was televised, and Johnson looked unstoppable in his dismantling of Speer).
