(Atlantic City, NJ) – November XX, 2007 – HDNet Fights, the newly launched Mixed Martial Arts League from Dallas Mavericks owner and Internet broadcasting pioneer Mark Cuban today announced an exciting new partnership with legendary World Champion Louis Neglia’s Ring of Combat, the northeast’s leading Mixed Martian Arts (MMA) event series.
The partnership will debut with the broadcast of HDNet Fights Presents: Ring of Combat. This first telecast on HDNet will be of Neglia’s Ring of Combat Beasts of the Northeast Tournament Finals on November 30, 2007 at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. HDNet will air the event at a later date to be determined.
The mission of HDNet Fights is to grow the sport through its own events via the HDNet Fights brand and by bringing attention to the top regional MMA organizations, such as Ring of Combat, through its “HDNet Fights Presents” banner.
For over ten years, Louis Neglia has provided the most action-packed MMA events in the Northeast through his Ring of Combat tournaments. This partnership with HDNet Fights affirms Neglia’s ongoing commitment to bringing quality fighters from around the world together and producing the best events in the region and is now leading the charge in bringing high-definition quality MMA bouts to living rooms nationwide. The main fight-card for the November 30th Tournament will feature bouts between MMA stars Gregor Gracie from Team Renzo Gracie vs. Eric Henry (from Team XXX), as well as Jim Miller (XXXX) vs. Chris Liguori (XXXXX), among many other action packed bouts.

Louis Negliea is a three-time World Kickboxing Champion, a former U.S. Kickboxiing Champion, a Florida Karate Champion, New York State Champion, and an Eastern American Karate Champion. No Opponent has lasted more than three rounds against Louis Neglia since he won his first World Championship in 1980. Lou is an eight-degree Black Belt, and retired from competition in 1985 with a career record of 34 wins and only 2 losses. He was named Fighter Of the Year in 1984 and was inducted into the Karate Hall of Fame. He starred in four motion pictures("A Hard Way to Die","Super Weapon","Fist of Fear",and "One Down", "Two To Go"). Featured articles have been written about him in the top American and International magazines and newspapers.

Louis Neglia’s Ring of Combat [ROC] will air this Friday night, December 7th at 10:30pm EST and again at 2:30 EST on “HDNet Fights Presents: Ring of Combat XVII” from the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City.
HDNet Fights in HDNet’s new mixed martial arts initiative, showcasing cutting-edge competition and events for the ultimate MMA fan.
The event will air in two parts. The first on this Friday, December 7th and the second on Friday, December 14th. Superfight stars featured in this latest action-packed ROC series include Gregor Gracie (who trains with cousin, MMA star, and coach Renzo Gracie) taking on Eric Henry in a welterweight bout. Also, UFC fighter Chris Liguori is slated fro a lightweight match against Jim Miller, whose lone career loss was to UFC rising star and ROC veteran Frank Edgar.
Also on the main card, IFL stand out Dan Miller is scheduled for a middleweight bout. Dan Miller (Jim Miller’s brother and training partner) has gained notoriety for performing one of the most spectacular submissions seen to-date in the IFL. Also, former wrestler and rising MMA star Nick Catone is pitted against Ben Knight in a middleweight bout.

World Kickboxing Champion and former fighter of the year Louis Neglia has received countless awards throughout the years. He has been honered by both the Mayor and Governer of New York, and has also been recognized as the "number one promoter in Kickboxing."
Neglia now has to make room on his mantel. He was recently inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
"The martial arts is not what I do, but what I am," commented Neglia. He also continued in saying that "I love the martial arts... it made my life what it is mentally, physically and I will continue teaching it at my academy in Brooklyn and I'm extremely proud that because of my training, my students have become champions in life and battle."
The induction ceremony and celebration was held at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino's Grand Ballroom in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Complete with food and entertainment, the event was sponsered by Martial Arts Magazine Editors Alan Goldberg and Al Sussman.
Television and movie star Joe Piscopo was on hand to MC the evening and to help celebrate a lifetime of dedication and achievement by Neglia.
The Italian Board of Guardians, honored Louis Neglia in May of 2005. This is one of the largest Italian National Organizations, and has been providing service to the community for over 69 years. The Organization was founded in 1936.
Sensei was honored, and received the "Leadership and Sports Award" on May 18, 2005 at Russo's on the Bay, in New York.
Past recipients of the award were Joe Piscapo, Tommy LaSorda, Mario Cuomo, and Ben Gazara.
This award is presented to Italians who have become extremely successful in life or career.
Sensei received 6 leadership and award plaques, along with citations and proclamations from N.Y. State Senators, Congressmen, , Assemblymen, the Governor, the Mayor, and the Italian Board of Guardian Organization.
