I was born and raised on Long Island, New York. I became an All American Wrester at Freeport High School before going on to be the Junior College National Champion at Nassau Community College and wrestling at Hofstra University.
I started to box as a way to get my aggression out and quickly realized it’s something I was very good at. Encouraged by my Hofstra wrestling teammate and Mixed Martial Arts star Phil Baroni, I began to train in MMA.
I quickly made my mark on the sport winning my first four fights before losing to UFC Champion Georges St-Pierre. I didn’t let that stop me and immediately began a new winning streak.
In 2004 My wife and I moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where I now trains full time with Randy “The Natural” Couture. I have taken time from my crazy schedule to give back to the community, teaching youngsters how to wrestle.
